Netcom secures £380k to deliver courses across West Yorkshire

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1664897451927{margin-right: 100px !important;}”]Netcom Training, have secured £378,750 from West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA) to deliver bespoke training to more than 360 learners across the region.

The partnership with WYCA will see Netcom offering funded placements in the region for the first time, supporting people aged 19 and over from priority groups with flexible courses of up to 16 weeks, while helping employers to fill skills shortages they have identified.

As part of the Government-funded Free Courses for Jobs (FCfJ) course, learners will be able to study courses in Cyber Security Practices and Coding Practices. Additionally, as part of the Adult Education Budget (AEB) Bridging Programme, students will complete modules in Networking and Architecture, Cloud Services, Business Processes within an IT environment and Mobile and Operating Systems. The programme aims to bridge the jump between Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications, and as such, Netcom learners will progress onto Level 3 courses or be provided employment in the IT industry, in roles including First Line Support Technician, Infrastructure Technician or Cloud Engineer.

Netcom has created its portfolio of digital skills qualifications in direct response to barriers employers across the UK have identified, but to also offer the digital generation with an opportunity to use their experience in a professional capacity, according to the company’s MD, Kevin Vashi.

The funding we’ve received from WYCA demonstrates that they have identified that opportunity too, and are keen to work alongside us to create the best possible learning resources.
